Acting the Script
Unlocking actions from the written word
Linnea Pihl created and conducted a comprehensive workshop in film acting and directing with a focus on empowering and educating theatre actors, war veterans and war refugees in Western Ukraine.
Pihl teaches the art of script analysis, breaking down scripts into actionable steps and emphasising the significance of beats and turning points.
The participants explore the nuances between screen and stage acting to gain a well-rounded understanding of the craft. By sharing her insights on self-taping techniques and effective audition strategies, she helps prepare the participants for an enjoyable audition experience.Â
Joining forces with renowned film director Anders Banke, they delve into critical elements like blocking, bracketing and fostering effective communication with film directors. Together, they equip participants with tools necessary to embark on a successful journey in the film industry.
I trust Linnea to give a thorough and honest analysis of the characters in any script. She is also excellent at giving a detailed explanation of areas for improvement when it comes to the language; spelling, grammar and idioms. She elevates a text with her eye for meaning and flow.
Documentary
Pihl is currently in post-production on a documentary exploring Acting the Script, as well as language and identity in times of crisis.
